Celine Dion was born in 1968 in Charlemagne, Quebec, the youngest of fourteen children in a musical family. She recorded her first songs in French as a teenager, with the support of manager René Angélil, who later became her husband.
In 1988, Dion won the Eurovision Song Contest for Switzerland with "Ne partez pas sans moi". She then began recording in English, and songs such as "The Power of Love" made her a star in North America and beyond.
